A Level Results Day: A day for change and looking ahead
15th August, 2019
Have you received your A Level results today? Thinking about applying to Oxbridge this year or next? The Oxbridge admissions process is laborious and time consuming. Not only is there the standard UCAS application to submit by the 15th October, but most subjects require you to sit an admissions test and in some cases submitted written work, not to mention the dreaded Oxbridge interviews.
The admissions test and interviews are often the aspects of the Oxbridge application that candidates are most worried about. Thankfully, we are here to help.
Admissions Tests
Most subjects at Oxford and Cambridge require you to sit an Admissions Test to test your aptitude and potential to study your chosen subject at undergraduate level. You can read more about the admissions tests here on our website.
Applicants for the following subjects at Oxford now need to do part or all of the Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA):
Economics and Management
History and Economics
Experimental Psychology
Human Sciences
Philosophy and Linguistics
Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE)
Psychology and Linguistics
Psychology and Philosophy
Chemistry
Applicants for Medicine at either Oxford or Cambridge (as well as a number of other top medical institutions) are required to take the BMAT. Oxbridge Interviews has produced online courses for both the TSA and BMAT to help you prepare for these assessments. You find out more about these and purchase them here.
Interviews
We also offer a bespoke service for the next stage of the process: the interviews. Our practice interview courses run on weekends from September through to November, which you can view and book here.
Not available on weekends, applying from abroad, or simply want to discuss a more personalised programme of support? You can also book a 15 minute consultation by contacting us here.
Here at Oxbridge Interviews we don't just believe in coaching. Our volunteers, most of whom are former Oxbridge students, know that scripted answers and generic confidence don't fool admissions tutors. Intelligent students with an aptitude for their subject are what the Oxbridge interviewers are looking for. We’re here to help showcase your knowledge and skills in the best way possible by teaching you to think creatively and express yourself appropriately.
Opportunities
Finally, our sister brand - Oxbridge International Summer Schools, provides an in depth academic learning experience to students from all over the world every summer. Akin to that of real Oxbridge students, the 2 - 4 week course helps further students in their chosen specialism and gives them an immersive Oxbridge experience. This is perfect for anyone considering an application in the future.
