Bertie graduated in English Literature from Merton College, University of Oxford. His research interests include religious biography and Victorian commemorative poetry.

Since then he has gone on to study as a lawyer, and is currently volunteering at an anti-death penalty charity in the United States.

Bertie’s advice to students he interviews is: “Trust your instincts and speak your mind – you have lots to offer, don't be afraid to offer it liberally!”
