Modern Languages Admissions Test Packages (MLAT)

The Modern Languages Admissions Test is taken by applicants to Oxford applying to Modern Languages, Linguistics and their joint courses. Most of these courses will use the MLAT to deselect applicants from interview, so strong preparation is critical.

The MLAT tests a student’s ability to translate between English and another language they understand, and to use those linguistic skills to comprehend and analyse a language they have never encountered before.

Improve your chances of performing well in the MLAT by practicing these skills.
