Classics Admissions Test Packages (CAT)

The Classics Admissions Test is taken by applicants to Oxford applying to classics and its joint courses. These courses will use the CAT to deselect applicants from interview, so strong preparation is critical.

The CAT tests a student’s ability to translate a short passage of Greek or Latin, if they are already studying a classical language at A Level or equivalent. Alternatively, if students are new to classical languages, the test will assess their aptitude for learning a new language quickly.

Improve your chances of performing well in the CAT by practicing these skills.
